$100,000 collected for charity at Mila TechAide 2023
Cyprien Quéméneur, a member of the LINCS Lab, recently attended the latest TechAide conference, a one-day research event held in collaboration with Mila. This conference, dedicated to artificial intelligence, also strongly emphasized giving back to the community. Over $100,000, were donated to Centraide of Greater Montreal to support its fight against poverty and social exclusion.
The event brought together numerous AI researchers and sparked discussions revolving around topics as diverse as music and video generation, large language models and adapters, continual reinforcement learning, AI applied to medical research, model documentation, and ethics.
Cyprien had a valuable opportunity to exchange views with Samy Bengio about federated learning gaining better insight of how it can be implemented at scale and how it factors into Apple’s commitment to privacy.
Montreal is home to a vibrant AI community, to which we at Lincs are proud to be a part of, and yesterday was a great reminder that AI should always be committed to the benefit of all. Congratulations to all the organizers for making this moment possible!
