LINCS Lab Postdoctoral Fellow Attends UpperBound Conference 2023
Deemah Tashman, a postdoctoral fellow at the LINCS Lab, has recently received the UpperBound bursary to attend the prestigious UpperBound conference in Alberta. UpperBound, an annual event established in 2022, celebrates over two decades of AI excellence in Alberta and is organized by Amii (the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute).
Amii is one of Canada’s three centers of AI excellence under the Pan-Canadian AI Strategy. As an Alberta-based non-profit institute, Amii is dedicated to fostering world-leading research in artificial intelligence and machine learning, and translating scientific advancements into practical industry applications. Their mission includes enhancing AI capabilities through cutting-edge research, delivering exceptional educational programs, and offering business guidance for developing in-house AI expertise.
The UpperBound conference serves as a vital platform for bringing together academic and industry AI communities, facilitating meaningful discussions, learning opportunities, and talent development. The five-day event encompassed a wide array of activities, including keynotes, panel discussions, and job fairs, all focused on the latest advancements in AI. This presented an invaluable opportunity for Deemah Tashman to connect with leading researchers in the field.
