Infrastructure

The laboratory boasts a state-of-the-art infrastructure to conduct cutting-edge research into the convergence of communications/networks and intelligence. It builds on disruptive technologies such as Open RAN (Open Radio Access Network), SDR (Software Defined Radio), virtualisation and containerisation, all pillars of 5G and beyond/6g networks, as well as a large-scale IoT testbed with over 100 devices. The lab leverages an architecture built on commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware and open software and  creates a flexible platform that can support a wide range of research on mobile edge networks, computing and learning with applications in different areas such as IoT, IIoT, C-V2X (Cellular Vehicle-to-everything) and UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) systems.
