The latest TimeWorld event, hosted by the University of Montreal, was dedicated to artificial intelligence, and home to 100 talks and 8 round table discussions spread over 3 days. AI was viewed through not only the lens of formal sciences, but also biology, cognition, philosophy, art and more, thus proposing a unique interdisciplinary approach. Attendees were even lucky enough to be greeted with an opening statement by Hubert Reeves!
Our lab member Cyprien Quéméneur was graciously provided an entry to the event by IVADO. Some of his favorite talks involved AGI research (Doina Precup, Irina Rish), quantum machine learning (Luc Vinet), AI as a tool to boost scientific discoveries (Yoshua Bengio), and AI in businesses (Alain Lavoie). For the curious, all the conferences were recorded and can be watched here.
