Graduation of Cyprien

Lincs is thrilled to announce that our student, Cyprien Quéméneur, has been awarded his Master of Applied Science degree by Polytechnique Montréal. His thesis, titled “Federated Learning Methods for Real-Time Object Detection in Internet of Vehicles”, had been accepted without revisions at the end of August by a jury consisting of Prof. Alejandro Quintero (President), Dr. Omar Abdul Wahab, and his advisor, Prof. Soumaya Cherkaoui.

His research explored the potential of federated learning — a decentralized and communication-efficient approach that safeguards data privacy — to train state-of-the-art object detection models in connected and autonomous vehicles. This led to the creation of the FedPylot framework, which is freely available.

Cyprien has since returned to France, and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
