Research Paper Accepted at GLOBECOM 2023!

Lab members Hajar moudoud and Wissal Hamhoum had their paper titled “Strengthening Open Radio Access Networks: Advancing Safeguards through ZTA and Deep Learning” accepted for presentation at the prestigeous IEEE GLOBCOM 2023 conference.

The paper presents an innovative approach to address the security issues related to the Open RAN. The proposed solution combines Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) where every application, device or user is only trusted afte being verified, with the reinforcement learning model “Deep SARSA” which allows real-time detection and prevention of cyber threats.

It’s important to mention that the IEEE GLOBCOM conference is a flag event under the IEEE Communications Society’s banner, serving as a premier event for driving innovation in the field of communications. It receives more than 3000 submissions yearly, from which it selects the best technical papers, tutorials, workshops, and industry sessions through a rigorous peer review. Which highlights the amount of dedication, hard work and collaborative effort invested in the project.

The conference is scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from the 4th to the 8th of December 2023. Stay tuned for more updates about the event later this year.
